Program Highlights
We offer two tracks of Chinese language programs. Both programs cover from beginners to advanced. Our programs teach students Pinyin (Chinese Phonics), grammar, speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension skills.
Track 1. Chinese as a Second Language (CSL). This program focuses on students whose mother language is not Chinese. This program offers Chinese classes from Pre-K to K-12 students, and adults.
Track 2. Chinese as a Heritage Language (CHL). This program requires at least one of the parents to be a native Chinese speaker. CHL offers Chinese classes from grades K through 12 students.
Homework: Depending on the grade level, students will have 15- 30 minutes home work from Monday to Thursday during the school year and also during the summer break.
Text Books: In order to ensure students with different ages and language backgrounds to have the most adequate text books and auxiliary learning materials, our staff has conducted extensive research. All our students have text books, homework books, and a DVD/CD to practice at home.
Teachers: All our teachers are native Chinese speakers and speak standard Mandarin with no accent. All teachers are certified Chinese language teachers with college degrees. Teachers communicate with students during the week through phone calls or emails to answer students' questions.
Teaching Plan: A rigorous teaching plan and weekly schedule have been adopted to each language level. At Great Wall Language School, we vow to keep students interested in Chinese language learning and have excellent learning results.
Test: All the students from grade 1 and up will have the end session and end year test. Students must pass all of the tests in order to move to the next level.
